Close ups of encaustic during the process
Close ups of encaustic during the process

A series of close ups at different stages in the making of World Resources - the differences in texture between using a coloured wax (Intarsia) or oil paint (Intaglio) is shown in the bottom left. The several iterations of desertification and crop field burning.

Most of the work is done by drawing into the wax (scraffito) to either expose underlying coloured layers, or infilling. As I am not a tidy worker, it can get quite messy!
