Last minute photography

When you're in a rush and you forgot to take a picture before framing....
This is a slightly odd post, but its do with photography of work. Normally this isn't much of a problem for me as my work isn't often glazed, but today I am trying to take a photo for a record of the work and I've taped up the back (with the last of my brown tape). So the fun begins.
Rule 1. Dark background to the camera
Rule 2. light but no strong lights (overcast day), natural light is best
And so I've pulled the dark blue duvet off the bed (as it's the largest dark object I have), got the camera on timer, so you don't see my arm (see image above!) and then curse alot because though my lens is very good for low light, its giving me an annoying level of curvature at the edges,which isn't normally a problem because I put it in the middle of the frame away from the edges...
Only when you're having set up a little impromptu studio in the space of a meter, you can't see through the view finder... Anyway 2 lenses later and I am giving up.. edges will just have to be cropped.. To see the cropped edges, come along to the EXPO at Newcombe House, The Point, Market Harborough, thanks to the Market Harborough Building Society, this weekend (5/6th September 2026 10 til 4).
