White matt wall paint on craft card

Its that time of year, where the (now) 9 year old makes a design and I convert it into something that I can create 50 or so of, All to try and get out before the international postal dates close off for the end of December receiving.

Again this year I have gone for the stenciling option, but I may have been slightly regretting this when I received the design and noted it was rather detailed on owls legs, squirrels in burrows surrounded by nuts, and very very jagged evergreens. The original plan of half an A5 card lengthwise (to fit into the accidental bulk buy of letter envelopes) was possibly a little too condensed for such a menagerie, so we are going to experiment with folding post painting and hope receivers will unfold to appreciate the whole image.

So after much jagged cutting of trees I am looking forward to see how the overlaps will work with the chalk paint when I apply the next coats. Going to try just 3 layers this year, with 4 colours, Not quite so looking forward to the browns in the 3rd layer, as though the designer has agreed antlers can be the same colour as the deer/reindeer body, the squirrels really need to be darker (thankfully snowy owls are acceptable) - so the final touches will be disneyfying eyes and noses and squirrels, hopefully in the correct space and not floating out in the snow somewhere.., and also utilising a full sheet per layer this year, noone will get a fat fingerprint card.... One day I may make a frame and lay things out properly before I start cutting.
